Why should I conduct market research?
Unless you know all the answers, market research is key component of making effective business decisions. Whether you are looking to improve or transform your business strategy, improve sales and marketing effectiveness, launch new products and solutions or enhance customer experience, almost any significant business decision should be based on accurate and relevant market research.
What are the different types of market research?
There are many different types of research, ranging from simple NPS (Net Promoter Score) and basic customer feedback surveys to in-depth, global market scoping, proposition testing or solution development research. If you’re thinking abour running market research activities, get in touch and we can advise you on what is most appropriate for your needs.
How do I design a market research brief?
Simple – tell us what you are trying to achieve, the questions you need to answer, and who you need to answer them. We’ll then work with you to create an efffective research strategy and execution plan, based on delivering many hundreds of succesful research programmes in the last 30+ years.
What channels should I use to research/how do we research?
There are a multitude of different channels through which to carry out research activities, the most common being email, phone and online via relevant business networks or social channels. Whilst we typically deliver multichannel research we are unashamedly “phone first”, as we believe no other channel allows you to obtain deep, contextually-relevant insights to the same level as a peer-to-peer conversation.
How long does a research project take?
This entirely depends on what you are looking to achieve – a quick and simple NPS survey in one country may only take a few weeks, whereas a global, multilingual, multistakeholder solution development research piece may take as long as 3 – 6 months.
How do you ensure market research is accurate?
Research is useless if it’s not accurate – we rigorously follow industry best practice data collection methodologies that are accredited to ISO9001, including voice recording and live interview monitoring as part of our quality management process, ensuring that you can be confident in the accuracy of our work.
What do market research deliverables look like?
“In addition to ongoing progress reports and regular governanece meetings, we will keep you in the loop throughout.
We will discuss findings and make adjustments during the process. Our interview data will be delivered in a format suitable for import into your own systems, and we always include sample recordings of interviews.
We also work with you to develop the analysis and report in a format suitable to your audience, whether that be internal analysts, your C-suite executives, or as a content piece for use as part of your marketing outreach.”
Is the market research unbiased?
In the majority of cases, GCL act as an impartial and independent research agency which ensures unbiased responses and avoids question skew. In some cases, a client may wish to promote the research as jointly developed during the interview process – in these cases there is the potential for bias, but this is only done when in the best interest of the client in order to achieve a specific objective and with prior agreement.
How much does market research cost?
Every piece of research is different and unique, so it’s simply impossible to answer this question without understanding more – get in touch with our team and we’ll be able to give a fixed price for delivery as part of our scoping process with you.

This time last year, we wrote a blog post about uncertainty. This was due to economic turbulence, Political instability, budget pressure and slower decision-making. At the time, it felt like the perfect storm – and for many businesses, it was. Now we fast forward 12 months, and while the headlines may have changed, the underlying […]
Cold Calls to Revenue Conversations: Warming Up Cold Calling
It’s no secret: cold calling has a bad reputation. For years, it’s been associated with spray-and-pray dialling, generic scripts, poor timing, and awkward conversations that went nowhere. It’s no surprise that many businesses moved away from it, favouring digital channels and inbound strategies instead. But in the world of B2B, cold calling has evolved. What […]

You may have noticed… AI is everywhere in B2B these days. From automated email sequences and AI-written messaging to chatbots, intent data, and predictive scoring, outbound outreach has become faster, cheaper, and more scalable than ever before. So it’s no surprise that many businesses are asking a big question: ‘Are human SDRs becoming obsolete?’ Or […]
